Many site updates, more coming - 169 views

Sorry for the lack of updates it's been a busy week or two. I've just finished up tons of new code for the site. I think the first thing you'll notice is the site is much faster than prior. I redid the entire menu system and a lot of the item browser system. I've implemented more anti-fraud stuff as well as wrote an algorithm (boy was that fun ...) to help determine some things about the customer while they're browsing around. This algorithm will allow us to start putting in to stock our godly legits like 30 fathoms, 40+ skill lifers, perf griffons and all that good stuff.
I've also updated the item database a bit to now allow flagging of items for auto deletion/disabling when they sell. That basically means no more hundreds of rares/godly/etc items sitting out of stock nor do we have to spend hours deleting them. There's insane amounts of rares that will be posted over the next few days now that this sytem is in place. Look out for some sick circlets, boots, rings, and helms. We have some nice 3/20/2 , 2/20/2, and many other nice items that will be up shortly.
Not so much a "big" addition but one that was requested a bit so I added it. You can now check the "Remember me" box while you login. This will basically retain your login info for 90 days so you do not need to login each time you come to the site. I find it useful myself and it should of been implemented months ago. Sorry!
A few other boring and extremely tedious code changes have been going on too so if you notice some bugs or odd errors please send a contact form directed to website/webmaster if you have the time so I can check on it. Oh yeah, that ugly annoying "yellow" block on the d2buck store has been fixed too. Yippe! Sorry about that if you find stuff like that please point them out. I don't often venture in to the User Panel unless I'm writing new features or updating code so I won't notice bugs or anything in there often (as you can tell by how odd things look in there compared to the more recent site sections...)
A lot of items started getting re-stocked one or two days ago but most are selling out rapidly (perhaps due to the public dupe patch?). We are working on restocking more things. Just a heads up though, rune/runeword/organ/jewel/facet/unperms will be probably until the middle of next week before we get more. This mainly only effects East Ladder customers, but we do have plenty of them in stock. The majority of out of stock items on each realm are new item and runeword ranges. Since we're lazy at times (doh!) and I had to try out Adams new item cloner I just dumped everything we plan to offer on every realm ... well... to every realm.
I think in the last 24 hours I've put up 60 annis, 30-40 some eth treks , many 200% arreats and much more higher end items. Over the course of today I'll be adding more stuff, but mostly higher end. I spent most of the week working on the new code in anticipation of the new layout we hope to get up within a month or so. It depends how long it'll take to port the site from mass tables/css1.0 to tableless(or for the majority) xhtml/css2.0 the design is 90% done but the code overhaul will take the longest time.
So, enough rambling eh? I'm burnt on programming for probably the rest of the weekend so I'll work on getting some more items up on the site; besides, it'll be nice to see if some of the new stuff actually works.
One last thing. I'll be writing some online utilities for our customers
(and even non-customers). I have some ideas but sure would appreciate yours too! What kind of guides, articles, and tools would you guys find helpful? I thought of a skill planner, a FCR/FHR/FRW/IAS calculator (but much more up to date and "cooler" and "lazy friendly" than the other ones around....) and the guides/articles I'm unsure of. Let us know your thoughts and ideas by sending us suggestions through the Contact Us system.
