| I just finished getting some of the new code online after a few delays. From now on when you order a custom character you'll be forced to supply all information online as opposed to through email and this will be dispatched to our level team asap. Granted, we still only offer leveling on UsEast Ladder (we hope to expand this) it'll still be a nice feature for everyone to use. Don't worry about trying to figure out how to configure characters you'll be asked to during checkout if you've not already done so just like item selections so it should intergrate right in to the checkout flow. Some layout tweaks have been done. You won't see all the random links that really only matter if you're logged in such as the cart link, pricematch, request item, etc. You'll also notice that unless you're logged in you do not get the full navigation menu on the left side. You can click only categories and then be taken to a larger, more manageable, list of items for that category. I decided to do this for non-logged in users for a few reasons with lag being the main one. Even now that I implemented gzip compression to the site there's still a good chunk of people on dialuip so I decided to trim the menu down a bit for those new-comers to the site. A lot of other updates have happened but more so behind the scenes, however you might notice some odd new bugs around the site, if you do, please contact us so I can fix them. This week I plan to take some time and devote some much needed time to the East Non Ladder and West Ladder realms; we've been lacking a lot in those areas and it's been due to a lot of staff changes and myself being tied up in the website. I apologize, and hope we can beef them up over the remainder of this month. With the last few updates from today and the many re-writes of old code I've done in the last month I think it's safe to say that d2supplies v2.0 is completed. I do want to re-write the site using xhtml/css 2.0 as opposed to this bloated html/css version to cut down load times and drastically improve nagivation and accessability for end users but that will take many months and unless we get word of a season 4 coming it's going to stay on the back burner most likely. A few new features might be added here and there as needed but nothing is planned anymore to be added to this site. It's been a grueling 13 month project but I'm finally happy with the outcome some odd 55,000 lines of code, 98 files, and 8 revisions later. Lastly, it seems our growth continues at phenomonal rates. I'm happy to say we've seen record sales days this month on two different occassions and might possibly break our previous sales month records from way back some odd 8 months ago. We're also on track to hit our next goal of 10,000 orders right around the time Christmas hits and what a nice present that would be for us. We hope we hit it, and we thank everyone who continues to shop at d2supplies. Sorry for the long post! Check back later for updates. |
